Köprülü is a town in Göle district of Ardahan Province. At the distance to Göle is 25 kilometres (16 mi) and to Ardahan is 75 kilometres (47 mi). The population of Köprülü is 2017 [1] as of 2010 .
Köprülü which was founded in the late 18th century, was ceded to the Russian Empire in 1878 by the Treaty of Berlin. But on 2 December 1921 Köprülü was returned to Turkey by the Treaty of Alexandropol (Gümrü) . The name of the settlement was Korehenk. But in 1962 the name was changed to Köprülü (“with bridge”) referring to the wooden bridge in the settlement. In 1971 the Köprülü was declared a seat of township.
Köprülü is a high alttute town. Because of the cold winters, agricultural income is quite limited and the major economic activity of the town is cattle breeding.
